The Tampa Bay Chapter proudly joined the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) as a constituent chapter in advancing the organization’s mission and objectives. Founded in 1971 by Dr. Lauranne Sams, NBNA was established to investigate, define, determine, and respond to the healthcare needs of Black Americans and other underserved populations while promoting equitable healthcare for all. The Tampa Bay Chapter was officially inducted on August 10, 1988, and has remained committed to NBNA’s legacy of advocacy, leadership, and service.
Mission
To positively impact the health and well-being of underserved, uninsured, and disadvantaged communities by providing health education, preventive health screenings, community outreach, and access to quality healthcare resources.
Goal
To advocate for and promote high-quality, accessible, equitable, and affordable healthcare while empowering individuals and communities to achieve optimal health outcomes through education, prevention, and collaboration.
Whatever adversely affects BLACK PEOPLE, wherever they may be, whoever they may be, affects us all.

Objectives
Further and strengthen the goals of NBNA locally to promote and enhance the quality of life of the under served.
To provide community forum/education on health issues, access, afford ability and quality care.
Collaborate with community partners,patients and healthcare providers to provide established community activities /support/available resouces to impact health disparities.
